Hartman Educational Technology is led by Founder and President, Gail Hartman. A former teacher and curriculum specialist, Gail has an extensive background in experiential, learner-centered education. The same passion that drove Gail to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences for all of her own students is what drives curriculum and multimedia development at Hartman Educational Technology.

Hartman Educational Technology creates K-12 curricula that are geared toward a constructivist, progressive education learning model.

  • We believe that the best classrooms create continual opportunities for students to actively solve problems and think critically rather than just passively receive information from teachers and textbooks.
  • We believe that learners of all ages should build their own knowledge and understanding of the world through hands-on investigations and discussion.
  • We believe that content areas should be blended in natural ways instead of being taught in isolated time slots. The classroom then becomes a better reflection of the real world, full of multidimensional experiences and interdisciplinary approaches to the discovery and application of knowledge.
  • We believe that technology in any classroom must be integrated and implemented as an essential part of the learning process. Technology is wasted when it is merely an added tool for tasks that are completed just as effectively without a computer.

Our approach to curriculum addresses multiple learning styles and encourages teachers to become facilitators or guides, rather than all-knowing dispensers of content. All of our materials embrace an inquiry-based learning pedagogy and encourage "higher-order" thinking strategies that challenge students to:

  • ask questions about what they're learning
  • work together to solve problems
  • connect prior knowledge to new knowledge
  • test, revise, evaluate, analyze and synthesize information and experiences through observation, discussion and experimentation

And that's just the beginning! We invite you to contact us to learn more.
